23rd World Congress of the International Association for the History of Religions

ESIND will participate in the 23rd World Congress of the International Association for the History of Religions, which will take place at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland, August 24-30, 2025 and focus on the theme “Out of Europe: Studying Religion(s) in Interconnected Worlds.”

The ESIND network will be organising (a) two panels titled “Beyond religious othering: alternative European representations of India,” the one focusing on Central Europe and the other on sources from the Low Countries,  (b) a roundtable “How Europe found religion in India: re-examining the cultural foundations of a conceptual vocabulary,” and (c) a PhD student workshop titled “Conceptualization of Indian Religions in the European Scholarship”.
